A few weeks ago, Carrie, Teresa and I met up at Siren Song Vineyard and Estate Winery for lunch and wine tasting. We were all super excited because everyone we spoke to about Lake Chelan wine said, “OMG you have to go to Siren Song.” The moment I stalked their IG feed, I knew it was time to grab the camera and go.
Despite the heat of the afternoon ( you all know how Chelan summers can be!), we chose to dine on the terrace. That view, of course! One the way to our table, we passed through the tasting room and swooned over this blue velvet settee.
The view from our table was breathtaking! I seriously felt like I was vacationing in Europe. It was magical.
I decided that the white wine flight was perfect to pair with my light lunch. It included a 2014 Matisse Chardonnay, a 2018 La Vie Est Belle Rose and a Cezanne Sauvignon Blanc.
We decided to share the Parisian Picnic (such a romantic name for a charcuterie, cheese and fruit tray!). I am fairly certain that I ate most of this myself. It was delicious.
My heirloom Caprese salad on crostini was absolutely wonderful. Owner/Chef Julie Brown and her culinary team are doing a wonderful job with the menu items at Siren Song. I really hope to get back soon for one of the cooking classes!
Carrie ordered the Siren’s Wedge salad, hold the bacon. The green apple and glazed pecans looked like a great pairing.
Here is Carrie with her red wine flight. It included the 2016 Piazza, a Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon varietal; the 2016 Jolie, a blend of Cab Franc, Malbec, and Merlot; and the 2016 A Night in Madrid, a Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Cabernet Sauvignon varietal. Winemaker, Kevin Brown’s inspiration behind this blend really resonated with me. Wine is made special by the food, people and ambiance we experience while drinking it.
Teresa paired a glass of the 2018 La Vie Est Belle Rose with this colorful and flavorful medley of Mediterranean vegetables, arugula and a skewer of bacon-wrapped prawns. Yum! I have to mention also that the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful to us.
I so badly wanted to be here at sunset to capture this image, because frankly, my shot here does not do this view justice. This Lake Chelan view is like none other, with the clear lake below and mountains surrounding. I vow to get back to Siren Song in the next several weeks to visit again in evening hours.
Here is the outdoor pizza oven which must be the pizza kitchen with the best view ever. Next time I visit, I will try one of these Artisan pizzas. I love pizza, and must have been saving my appetite for dinner because I didn’t order any.
Taste delicious Lake Chelan wine at Siren Song Vineyard Estate and Winery Thursday through Monday from 12 pm to 7 pm. They offer lunch, dinner, food and wine pairing events, live music events and wine tastings. When you make Lake Chelan your next wine tasting destination, you will love your visit to this winery!
