We had the most wonderful wine tasting experience last Saturday at Chelan Valley Farms near Lake Chelan! They’re located in Manson, Washington, overlooking Roses Lake.
Wine industry friends and their parents were visiting the Lake Chelan wine valley and joined me for a flight of Washington wine. Musician Ian Skavdahl was in town to play a couple live music shows at area wineries.
This particular winter Saturday was a bit quiet here in Manson, Washington; but that meant we had the entire place to ourselves! They have plenty of parking, beautiful views of Roses Lake and the mountain, a chic tasting room, and stellar wines. What more could one want?
Chelan Valley Farms has a few food options and a cute little shop corner. We especially loved their little dried lavender sachets.
Winemaker and owner Jeana generously spent so much time with us, telling the story of Lagrioth Winery and what they are trying to do here at Chelan Valley Farms. Owner and vineyard manager Chad also stopped by and chatted with us about the farm and winery.
The farm is very kid friendly, offers hot cocoa, stocks outdoor games for kids, and has a cozy fire pit with blankets.
One of the winemaker’s young boys came by and started our fire pit with wood from the wagon. It smelled so good and made our outdoor experience more enjoyable. (I felt like I was coming down with something so asked my guests if we could sit outside for their own protection from my germs. Turns out I was coming down with a bad cold, so I’m glad we were outside!)
The friendly farm kitty wandered by demanding snuggles. (The farm is not dog friendly due to farm livestock and chickens on the property).
You can currently buy apples grown right here on the farm, and farm fresh eggs from the 80 hens.
Most of the wines here are estate grown right here on the property, part of the Lake Chelan Ava. (A couple source grapes from the Columbia Valley AVA).
I went home with a stunning 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, and probably should have grabbed yet another bottle of the delicious Denny’s Red Blend.
I love having such a magnificent winery to take houseguests to – this lovely farm and winery really makes an impression on people.
Stop by Chelan Valley Farms during your Winterfest visit or when you visit in the Spring!
